So This Guy Goes For A Walk
Ray Bradbury wrote "The Pedestrian" because he wanted to show how technology will take over society. He strongly believes that the domination of technology will lead to conformity, lack of imagination, and individualism. It is the year 2052 and the individual is out on walks where the streets are lonely and people are at home watching television. When Mead gets pulled over by a cop and taken into custody because according to the cop, his actions are out of the ordinary. The theme is that technology has a negative impact on society and if we spend so much time using it, then things are going to change but not for the better good. This is already a problem that is going on right now and many of us don't see it but if we don't come to the conclusion that this a serious problem that will have negative outcomes, then no one is going to be able to stop it in the future. We have to take control of the amount of technology we use and we have to make sure that it doesn't have full control over us.
