  • Basically the entire essay seems to be about Emerson proving to us how important it is for one to stay true to themselves.
  • “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” - Emerson 
  • Emerson thinks that kids have no talent
  • We are the best person when we can be when we try our best
  • If we don't express  the way we feel, then our thoughts and opinions will never be heard
