Let Me Walk You Through The Pedestrain

Ray Bradbury first wrote this story "The Pedestrian" in the mid 1900's, technology wasn't as big as it is now but he was able to express his feelings and experiences with technology. In fact he even takes a glance at the future and the year is 2053. He decided to take a walk, which is somewhat like a tradition to him and the odd thing is that he seems to be the only one in society to be going out for a walk. The theme of this story happens to be technology and the impact that has on society (lack of imagination and individualism). He uses his experiences to write to us and explain how technology will change in the future and how things will be different drastically different than what they are now. The plot of this story is that a guy decides to go out for a walk one day and often looks around his fellow neighbors, who are just watching television. As he continues his walk, he is stopped by a police car and the police officer asks him some questions such as 'Bus

story of my life

About two weeks ago, I overheard my cousin saying that he was going to go to Sacramento to attend his cousin's quince and I actually wanted to go. I've only been to Sacramento once but it was only for an AVID trip and I wanted to see what the city really looked like. I decided to ask him if I could go with him and he said, "Sure as long as your parents say yes." When I asked my mom she told me to ask my dad and my dad said "Yes, go have some fun." When the day came though, they didn't actually think that I was going to go and if I'm being honest I thought I was going to chicken out. I already had my things packed so there was no going back. Turns out I had to leave with my uncle instead because my cousin left at 1:00 and I was still at school. On our way there my little cousin and I were watching some videos and playing tic-tac-toe. Later on we stopped to eat at In-n-Out and we still had two hours to go, which was a good thing. Before midnight we got

Young Goodman Brown Questions

1. I think that Hawthorne's purpose for writing this story was to show us that there is a good and bad side in all of us. I also think that Hawthorne wanted us to know that there are people who act differently and don't show their true identity to society. 2. After reading the story, I agree that Brown's wife is "aptly named Faith" because throughout the story we can tell that Goodman Brown is a very faithful in his religion but things took a turn when he went to a party and saw the evil in her.  I think that Faith's name fits her personality because she still shows that she cares about Goodman Brown and she'll be waiting for him to come home. Brown does not faith in her because he himself turns into a devil during the middle of the story. 3.  I think the pink ribbons signify a sign of happiness found in their marriage. As the story went on and Brown was in the forest he started to doubt the pure good in people and the significance of the pink ribbon wen

So this guy goes for a walk (First Impression of Young Goodman Brown)

My first impression on "Young Goodman Brown" is that the author describes everything that is going on really well. As Brown says goodbye to his wife, Faith, he thinks she's off to doing something nice because he seems to believe that she is full of good and has no bad in her. I can relate to how Young Goodman Brown felt about his wife being full of good because I myself believe that no matter who you are, there is some kind of good in you but there are just a few of us who are better at hiding the good in us. Everything takes a turn tho when he heads into the forest because he started hearing voices that sounded like Faith and when he saw her, he started thinking bad of her. He no longer believed that she full of good but instead hes started to believe that she was evil. Once again I can relate to this because there are some people that I've known for a long time and I think I know them really well, but turns out we actually don't. In fact, I think that the people
