I GET BY WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS

There are 36 students in my AP Language and Composition class, and usually we don't all get to talk at once. Today was very different, we got to share out many topics we wanted to talk about. Whether it was about the Great Gatsby or other things going on in school/community, we all had something to say. Although there are some people who don't normally talk and still didn't talk today, it made us think about things we hadn't thought about before.

The Great Gatsby Chapter 6 (pages 103 -118)

A reporter who is in desperate need of some gossip shows up at Gatsby's house just to get rejected James Gatz is his real name but he changed it once he turned 17 since he wished to be reborn as the person he now considers himself to be Gatsby had lied about a lot of things. For instance, he wasn't really born in San Francisco but instead he was born in North Dakota When Gatsby went on a yacht with some guy he met named Cody, he fell in love with luxury and wealth One day, when Nick is passing by Gatsby's house he's shocked to see Tom having a drink and it's surprising to see him mention that he (Gatsby) knows Daisy Tom and Daisy get invited to one of Gatsby's parties but Tom is already getting suspicious that there is something going on between the two, so he decides to keep an eye on her After Tom and Daisy leave the party, Gatsby goes to Nick and mentions that he wishes things can go back to the way they were before he left Louisville  Nick tells Gat

Gatsby Notes and Thoughts - Chapter 7 (119-153)

1. Gatsby stops having parties because he is spending all of his time trying to get back Daisy's love. At first he was just throwing parties to attract Daisy but now that he had her, he found it unnecessary. 2. Gatsby fires his staff because he doesn't want there to be any gossip about what's going on but he later replaces them with some shade individuals that Wolfshiem knows. 3. When Gatsby meets Daisy's child, he is stunned and can barely believe it's real and meanwhile Daisy seems to not be interested in her daughter. Her daughter looks more like Tom than her. 4. When Daisy and Gatsby were together, they couldn't hide their feelings for each other and Tom caught on to that. Tom confronts Gatsby and asks him what his intentions with Daisy are and he just mentions that she's in love with him (Gatsby). Tom also accuses Gatsby of a lot of things and as Daisy begins to notice what's going on, she takes Tom's side when Gatsby says that she's nev

GATSBY CHAPTER 8 NOTES AND THOUGHTS

1. When Nick shows up early in the morning, Gatsby tells him that he had been waiting for Daisy till 4 in the morning but nothing happened. Gatsby mentions how much he loved Daisy but she couldn't wait for him to come back and that's why she ended up marrying Tom. 2. Nick suggests that Gatsby goes away and forgets Daisy but he refuses to do so because he thinks that Daisy will eventually leave Tom for him. 3. Gatsby says that Daisy was the first girl that he felt close and the night they slept together to seal the pact (she would wait for him to return from war), he felt married to her already. 4. I think the author interrupts the tense relationship dialogue with a secondary character and the mention of the pools because it helped Gatsby breathe since he had just been talking about Daisy. This allows Nick to say goodbye to Gatsby and leave the conversation. 5. The climax of the story had been in chapter 7 when Tom finds out about the affair between Daisy and Gatsby.
