  • Wilson kills Gatsby because he thinks he was the one driving the car when Myrtle was hit and killed.
  • No one wanted to be at his funeral
  • After Gatsby's death, all of his friends and acquaintances Nick was planning on inviting to his funeral disappeared including Tom and Daisy
  • Gatsby's father shows up to the funeral and mentions to Nick that he was proud of his son and he also showed him the book Gatsby had written (a schedule he had written for him to improve)
  • Nick decides to move back to the Midwest and one day when he was walking on Fifth Avenue in New York City, he saw Tom walking and he wasn't sure if he should approach him or not
  • They end up talking and Tom ends up confessing to Nick that he was the one who told Wilson that Gatsby was the one driving the car when Myrtle got killed
  • Tom says that Gatsby deserved to die and that's when Nick comes to the conclusion that both Tom and Daisy were careless people and they only hurt people, knowing that they would never face any consequences since they were rich
  • Nick comes to the conclusion that Gatsby's dream never came true because of all his methods  since they were mostly dirty
